Our practice offices occupy a triangular site in Marylebone, enclosed on two sides by the backs of domestic buildings. The office campus consists of two interlinked buildings designed as a congenial and cost-effective workspace for up to 100 people, with sheltered outdoor areas adding variety to the environment.

The buildings are constructed using the Patera Building System, developed as a standardized, single-storey solution for industrial or office use. These can be delivered as kits in containers and quickly erected with minimal equipment.

The original prototype features a sophisticated tubular-steel lattice frame placed outside the building envelope, with insulated panels for walls and roof and glazed ends. A later version uses simpler columnar supports and has enough head height to include a mezzanine floor.

Each building type serves as design studios for different teams working on projects worldwide. A glass entrance and reception area is sheltered by a tensile membrane canopy that extends to form a covered walkway linking the two buildings.
