The Sports Centre is the second phase of a larger masterplan for new Indoor Sports Facilities for Eton College. The building sits in the heart of the existing campus, alongside the historic Fives courts adjacent to the existing Rackets Building, both of which are to be refurbished as part of the project. The design comprises a series of separate brick buildings, new and existing, with routes between them linking to the wider College quads and playing fields. A new entrance on Common Lane sits between richly detailed brick gables among neighbouring Edwardian buildings.

The buildings contain a variety of sports facilities, including 8 squash courts, a 9-court sports hall, triple height climbing wall, Athletic development and multi-gym, Dojo and sprint track spaces. The new buildings will enhance the local Conservation area and be built in robust traditional materials, mostly brickwork and timber with slate roofs, all detailed in sympathy with the local vernacular.

The School Sports Centre will start on site in Spring 2022 following completion of the Sports & Aquatics Centre, and will complete in 2024.
