The Galleria Mall is envisioned as a commercial centre of the Al Wasl residential district. A two-storey Community Retail Centre forms the front of the Al Wasl development with a residential complex, Al Wasl Villas, behind it. The key design feature, a triangulated roof formed with laser cut aluminium plates, gives a recognisable character and necessary visibility to the building from the busy road, animating the interior and creating a comfortable shade around the exterior.

The Community Retail Centre comprises of an anchor deli outlet, four food and beverage units, 22 retail outlets over ground and first floor, and an open air cinema on the roof. A single, central, sky-lit route links the units within a pedestrianised arcade. Two large circular skylights on either side of the mall represent focal points in the interior. Retail, food, and beverage units are double-fronted to maximise their potential. There are external landscaped pathways, dining terraces at ground and first floor and a lanscaped children's play area. 

22 new parking spaces are provided on Al Wasl Road, with an additional 115 spaces in a single-storey basement which also contains ancillary MEP rooms.
