    Georgia Laganakou

    Georgia Laganakou
    Head of Sustainability

Georgia joined Hopkins in 2022 as Head of Sustainability, and is involved in every project from the outset, working with the client and design team to help establish an environmental strategy for the project; set energy targets; and use whole-life costing to achieve the best value in terms of capital versus on-going running, maintenance and replacement costs.

Georgia leads the practice’s sustainability group which acts as a support network providing specialist insight and reviews to design teams across all projects within the office. She assesses our practice carbon emissions and directs the pathway to our carbon reduction commitments to be met by 2030. She is responsible for the inhouse energy benchmarking database which enables critical understanding of our buildings.

Georgia studied architecture at the University of East London, working on architectural design, energy assessments and thermal modelling before going on to specialise in retrofit via a PhD in 2019.
