Alex McCartney
Director

Alex joined Hopkins in 2014 and was made a Director in 2023. Alex has particular expertise in mixed use and education projects, and was responsible for the design and delivery of Phase 1 of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital: Institute in the Park, a building which brings together leadership and expertise in multi-disciplinary education, research and innovation, all focused on improving the care and understanding of children and their health needs.

More recently Alex has been working on a number of projects for Eton College which encompass dealing with the issues involved in restoring and updating a listed building alongside the challenges of designing a new complex sports facility inside a conservation area.

She is passionate about maintaining design quality right through the delivery phase and into completion.
