Hopkins Architects became an EOT in 2019, broadening the ownership of the practice beyond its founders and creating a structure that supports staff welfare and engagement. Our active Employee Council offers a forum for staff at all levels to raise concerns or suggest improvements to the way we work and socialise together, or respond as a practice to issues taking place in the wider world.
We are an equal opportunities practice, offer a wide range of employee benefits, and make every effort to go beyond the minimum or legal requirements to create an inclusive workplace where everybody’s contribution is valued.
We have a well-established mentoring system to help staff, particularly those in the early stage of their career, and we actively encourage individual growth and career development at all levels, regularly checking in with staff about how they would like to progress.
Like most organisations, the last few years have encouraged us to take another look at how we work together. We’ve developed an approach which combines flexibility for staff with an ongoing commitment to reinvigorating a strong, happy and inclusive office culture.
We have an established CSR policy, with the charities that we support chosen annually by staff. We also support individual staff in their own personal or industry charity projects. We are a close, collaborative team, and offer a range of formal and informal events that celebrate our people as well as our projects.
