Yale University Kroon Hall Opening May 18, 2009Kroon Hall was formally dedicated on Thursday 7th May as the focal point of environmental innovation at Yale. As the new home for Forestry and Environmental Studies the building reflects the School's highest ideals in conservation and sustainability; reducing carbon emissions by an estimated 62.5%, compared to a standard building [Ashrae 2004]. Kroon Hall is on the site of a previous oil fired power plant and the project creates two new courtyards which will be a catalyst for the redevelopment of Science Hill.
"It is a true joy to be in Kroon Hall. What a joyful, beautiful place, and it has led to a new level of interaction among students, faculty and staff. What a gift!"
