100 Liverpool Street achieves Net Zero April 9, 2021
Congratulations to British Land on achieving its first Net Zero building with 100 Liverpool Street through a strategic combination of design and offsetting.
Over 11,000 tonnes of carbon were saved during construction through ingenious reuse of the existing structure. This approach also enabled the building to be completed faster and more cost effectively than building from new. Low carbon choices were made throughout and smart technologies were adopted to enhance operational efficiency as well as the customer experience, for example by optimising light and heat.
Nigel Webb, Head of Developments at British Land, said: “We are thrilled with what we’ve achieved at 100 Liverpool Street which serves as a blueprint for future sustainable development at British Land.”
We are delighted to have collaborated with BL on this project and can't wait to see it in use again.
