The Peninsula London celebrates major milestone, moving closer to completion in 2021 July 2, 2019
The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels celebrated a key milestone for The Peninsula London on 19 June 2019. The Rt Worshipful The Lord Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Ruth Bush and other VIPs were invited to witness the topping out of the first core of the building and a time capsule ceremony, hosted by HSH Chairman The Honourable Sir Michael Kadoorie.
Speaking at the event, Sir Michael said: “This is an exciting day for The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels. It has taken us thirty years to find the perfect location in London, one of the world’s most dynamic cities. It is our vision that The Peninsula London shall be recognised as one of the finest hotels in the world.”
The project site for The Peninsula London is in a spectacular location overlooking Hyde Park Corner and the Wellington Arch and will comprise a 189-room hotel and 26 luxury residential apartments, with opening currently scheduled for 2021.
