Koy project in Istanbul nears completion August 8, 2018
Our Koy project in the Zekeriyakoy quarter North of Istanbul is close to completion. More than 1,000 residential villas, duplexes and townhouses, schools, mosques, a health centre, commercial centre and community amenities are being built on a steeply sloping site.
The design of the buildings draws on the influence of Turkish/Ottoman Architecture to create a contemporary but distinctly Turkish feel. The layout of residential units follow the contours of the site, forming a gently curved pattern across the hillside. The buildings are set in a distinctly Turkish environment with tree lined avenues created to compliment the wooded parklands. Private gardens are created as intimate courtyards affording privacy and views across the valley beyond, protected by natural stone or rendered walls.
This is the first project in Instanbul for the practice, and is due for completion later in the year.
