UEL Stratford Library receives Concrete Award November 11, 2013
The new Library at the University of East London has been selected as the recipient of a Certificate of Excellence in the 2013 Concrete Society Awards in the education building category. The Concrete Society was formed nearly 50 years ago as an organisation of designers, contracters, research workers and suppliers of concrete and their annual awards recognise excellence in concrete construction.
The new library features space for 150,000 items of stock and includes a 24-hour cafe, study areas and a new outdoor courtyard. It is anticipated that the building will achieve a BREEAM rating of "Excellent."
