Prime Minister's Better Public Building Award October 10, 2012
Our new UCH Macmillan Cancer Centre was awarded the prestigious Prime Minister's Better Public Building award at Wednesday's British Construction Industry Awards ceremony. Hailed for its "outstanding environmental, as well as clinical excellence," the centre on Huntley Street in London opened earlier this year as Europe's first ambulatory care cancer centre.
Located next to University College Hospital, the centre includes dedicated environments for Women's and Men's Health, Haematological cancers, and Paediatric and Adolescent cancers, among others. It also houses facilities for clinical research and trials as well as the Cancer Risk Management Centre, the first of its kind in the country.
This is the second year running the practice has won the award with the London 2012 Velodrome winning last year.
