Matteo Sarno

Project Architect

Matteo joined Hopkins Architects in 2014, following studies at Edinburgh and Westminster Universities and seven years working with a prestigious East London architecture practice. He brings a particular focus on residential and hospitality projects to the Practice.


His previous experience includes serving as the project architect for an award-winning residential quadrangle at the University of Oxford, a BREEAM-Excellent residential building for young professionals and students in central London, a 26-storey tower housing student residences and artist studios in Stratford, and also a Grade A office building at Jersey International Finance Centre. He has led competitions for the Yang Zhou Science & Technology Museum, the Guangzhou Daily newspaper and a resort and villas in Shanghai, China.


Matteo has experience using MMC in unitised facade systems and prefabricated pods and has researched urban densities for the Homes and Communities Agency. He is a visiting critic at the University of Westminster and is currently working on a luxury hotel development in London on a prominent and sensitive site.
