George Green Library Opens at University of Nottingham March 17, 2017
The new George Green Library at the University of Nottingham has been officially opened by Prince Andrew, Duke of York. Though renovated in 2007, the building did not meet the current demand for research and study space which was compounded by minimal floor to ceiling heights and a precast concrete facade in need of replacing.
Our new extension introduces three taller central floors, a curved façade offering extended perimeter desk spaces, and a full height atrium; it also adds an additional floor and gives increased visibility between floors. The existing building has been thoroughly renovated to accommodate library stacks, reading areas and teaching rooms; the new curved extension houses reading and study areas and a ground floor social hub and cafe and the entire building has been designed to receive a BREEAM Excellent Rating.
