Construction Begins on new Hospital in La Spezia October 20, 2016
The foundation stone has been laid on our public hospital project in La Spezia, Italy during a ceremony to mark the beginning of demolition of the outdated Ospedale Felettino and start of construction of the building. The Nuovo Ospedale Felettino della Spezia will feature 520 beds for inpatients and is expected to accommodate 900 outpatients daily. Its design makes the most of the south facing site looking towards the sea by adopting a fan-shaped geometry which opens up to the views.
"Today is a breakthrough day" said Giovanni Toti, the President of the Liguria Region, who led the event alongside other dignitaries and hospital officials. The hospital is scheduled to be completed in 2020.
